The most recent evidence comes from Refinery29, where the "Parenthood" and "The Duff" star sat down with her mom Pat Musick for new video "Talking To Kids About Sex," as part of the site's Her Shorts series with Planned Parenthood .
Whitman and Musick talk about some of their own first major sex-related discussions, and stress the importance of having open communication between kids and parents. Or, if parents aren't a good option, adults at Planned Parenthood.
"It's important to have an adult because they can provide so much perspective that you just don't have yet," Whitman said. "I immediately remember the feeling of going, 'This problem that I don't understand is small and I can overcome it.'"
