"Mama June" Shannon gave an update regarding her strained relationship with her daughter Anna "Chickadee" Cardwell, amid claims that Cardwell was molested as a child by Mark McDaniel, Shannon's convicted sex offender ex-boyfriend.

"We talk," Shannon said of her daughter during a HuffPost Live conversation on Thursday. "There's not enough sorries in the world that you can tell her, and I told her that. But we have mended our relationship for the most part, even though she lives in Alabama. We don't talk every day, but we do talk."

Caldwell is currently suing her mother for allegedly withholding more than $201,000 in "Here Comes Honey Boo Boo" profits from her. The reality show was canceled in 2014 , shortly after Mama June and McDaniel were rumored to have reconciled.

The reality star and mother to Honey Boo Boo affirmed that she was there to support Anna during that trying time, and she feels that she approached the situation correctly.

"I don't think I made any mistakes as far as handling the situation when it actually first went down," she said. "My kids know that I have an open-door policy -- that you can come to me anytime, no matter if it's bad, good or indifferent."
