I say mildly cold weather because unless you have some plans to use something in combination with this jacket, you will get quite cold at about 50 degrees Fahrenheit at 65 mph or faster. I bought this with the plan to use a heated hoody in mild weather and a heated jacket in cold weather. The temperatures here get down to -20 in the winter with 50 to 60 mph winds. Going against the wind at 65 means 125 mph winds sustained against you.

If you travel more than an hour, you must use this in combination with something else. It does work well for what I bought it for. I bought it for a barrier. The padding works well too. I did a few hit tests with a stick (had my wife rough me up a bit) and the pads work very well to cushion impacts. Now as far as sliding goes, I am not sure.
