This week, the ever-cool Meryl Streep revealed she would help fund a screenwriting lab specifically for women over 40.

The lab will be overseen by New York Women in Film and Television , which Streep is an honorary board member of, and have the support of female celebrity mentors.

Streep herself knows the struggles of aging women in Hollywood. In 2011, she told Vogue Magazine that once she turned 40 she got offered three roles -- all to play witches. "Once women passed childbearing age they could only be seen as grotesque on some level," Streep said.

Applications for the lab will be available starting May 1 and the deadline is June 1, for the three-day intensive seminar in September. More details on how to apply can be found here.
