Michael Cohen said theres an easy way to spot when Donald Trump is lying, and you dont have to read the former presidents lips.
Just watch his hands.
When you see the accordion hands start going, what that means is that hes lying, Cohen, who was Trumps longtime fixer and personal attorney, told CNN s Jim Acosta on Tuesday. Its a tell with Donald. Anytime that the accordion hands start, that means that hes not telling the truth.
Cohen spoke with Acosta about Trumps on-again, off-again debate with Vice President Kamala Harris , which seems to be back on even though the two camps are still arguing over whether the mics should be muted when they are not speaking.
The Harris camp wants the mics on all the time, and Trump has said thats OK with him.
But his campaign wants them off for the Sept. 10 debate.
Cohen said theres a reason for that.
They dont trust that hes gonna keep his mouth shut and he wont stay normal for the 90 minutes of the debate, Cohen said.

Cohen said Trump despite what he says doesnt want the mics on, either.
He knows he cant control himself, he said. He says things under his breath, hes gonna continuously interrupt Kamala every time she says something that he doesnt agree with. He cant help himself.
