Mischa Barton Apologizes For Bikini Photo Tribute To Alton Sterling

Mischa Barton has apologized for posting a bikini photo along with a tribute to Alton Sterling , who was shot multiple times and killed by police in Louisiana. 

The actress posted the photo to Instagram Thursday following Sterling’s death early Tuesday morning. While her sentiment was well-intended  calling for action in response to police brutality her choice of imagery was not. 

Users were quick to call out the former “O.C.” star, and one commented that it was “hard to take you seriously while you post a picture of you sipping alcohol on a yacht.” She later deleted the photo .

On Friday, she tweeted an apology. 

She then weighed in on the sniper shooting in Dallas at a Black Lives Matter protest that left five dead and more injured.
