In the height of summer, there's nothing better than having a huge reserve of basil pesto . With a good pesto recipe, every meal is figured out. If you have pasta on hand, top it with pesto. A slice of crusty bread, smear it with pesto. Just a spoon and a jar of pesto can make a great snack too. (It's a good thing pesto is good for our health .)

But just because summer (and its plethora of basil ) has come to an end, that doesn't mean we can't keep whipping up pesto recipes; it just means we have to get a little more creative.
