Looking at one of Petra Collins photos is like walking into a dimly lit disco bar. Theres glamor and light and color, and emotional vigor is on full display. But theres also something gritty about her subjects brazen display of unfiltered emotions. Its uncomfortable, but in a good way, like dancing in front of a crowd for the very first time.

The 22-year-old photographer is on a roll this month, having just directed the music video for Carly Rae Jepsens Boy Problems, which, as Rolling Stone put it , vacillates between bubbly and gloomy. The same mood is captured in her latest photo series, "24-HOUR PSYCHO," on display at Ever Gold Gallery through April 30 .
