Earlier this year, I discovered this great theater company, Role Players Ensemble (RPE) , ensconced in downtown Danville, at Village Theatre & Arts Gallery . Ive starred in one comedy since I took to the stage three years ago, and decided I could use another comical production in my life. I found out about RPEs auditions for Dont Drink the Water, so I auditioned. Needless to say, I was cast, and am happy to be in the company of funny and talented actors.

Whats it about?

When New Jersey caterer Walter Hollander takes a picture of the wrong location while visiting cold war Eastern Europe, he and his family find themselves pursued by the state police and seeking sanctuary in the American embassy. Woody Allen brings his signature brand of humor to a motley assortment of characters in this oddball comedy.

With all the current US/Russian tensions in the news, this very first production by Woody Allen is just as relevant, and just as funny today, as it was when it opened in 1966 and became a Broadway hit.
