Ahh, once again, the seasons are changing. As we transition from summer to fall , you might be swapping those breezy garments out or warming layers or, if youre like me, impulsively shopping for Halloween decorations as the spooky season steadily approaches. But theres another thing you should consider with falling temperatures: your falling tire pressure.

Warmer and cooler temperatures can impact your vehicles tire pressure , causing wheels to deflate and increase the risk of hydroplaning . As a preventative measure, its wise to regularly monitor your tire pressure and inflate it to the manufacturers specifications. But if you dont have the spare quarters to fill your tires with air at your local gas station who does nowadays?  consider keeping a compact tire inflator nearby instead. We found one that reviewers say is as useful for vehicles you use day-to-day and on road trips as it is for bicycles   inflating tires in less than 4 minutes and is actually on sale right now for just $20. After clipping the on-page coupon, the on-sale price drops from $24.99 to $19.99.

This tire inflator weighs less than 1 pound and is capable up to 150 PSI of maximum pressure. It has a 9-foot-long DC power adapter that you can plug directly into your cars cigarette port, plus an LED screen shows you how much pressure is in each tire once inserted. To use it, you just set your targeted PSI and let the machine pump your tire up in around 4 to 6 minutes, meaning you wont spend too much time idle on a dangerously busy highway or stranded elsewhere.

This would be great to have if you get a slow leak somewhere and are not close to a gas station or tire shop, says one reviewer . I wanted an inflator I could use both for my Jeep and bikes... This inflator is just what I wanted. It works well, but doesnt take much room in the car.

[I] bought this for my husband so he didnt have to drag out the full-size air compressor to inflate tires, raves another reviewer .  He used it the other day to inflate a flat bike tire and was impressed at how easy it was to use and that it automatically stops at the pressure you set it at. He had to verify the pressure against his expensive tire gauge and the pressure matched exactly!

A bundle of small adapters also lets you attach to other vehicles and items for other needs such as bicycles, golf carts or basketball valves. You can grab this tool for $20 today and keep it in your trunk in case of any on-road emergencies or tucked away in storage for inflating your bike or various sports balls. This may be small in size but it works great on so many different items. Bought this for my husband so he didnt have to drag out the full size air compressor to inflate tires. He used it the other day to inflate a flat bike tire and was impressed at how easy it was to use and that it automatically stops at the pressure you set it at. He had to verify the pressure against his expensive tire gauge and the pressure matched exactly! Then he filled a golf cart tire and topped off a low truck tire. This is great for every day but will be nice for traveling. It is now tucked in the glove compartment. We will be purchasing 2 more for our children to put in their cars. Update: we were driving to cruise terminal and our low pressure indicator turned on. We were not near an exit so my husband pulled over and we connected this, filled the tire and were on our way in about 5 minutes!  judy sattanno

This little tire inflator has given me peace of mind while on the road. I always panic when the dashboard indicates low tire pressure and I have to scramble to find a gas station with an air pump machine. Some stations dont have them and others dont work even after you put your quarters in. The inflator is superfast with an automatic shutoff so I dont have to stand around and keep an eye on the gauge. I hate it when my old one overinflated and I had to carefully bleed air out to get the right psi. The very large LED display is great for nighttime usage. It doesnt rely on a battery so no worries about keeping it charged up. The three light modes mean I dont need to carry an extra flashlight in the car. Extra nozzles for balls and bikes are included. I am very happy with the functionality of this gadget.  Gwen Moy

I am a huge fan of this air compressor and am very glad I bought it! it looks great and has a nice, legible display with multiple different units besides psi. Yes got several dkffeeent hoses and needles so you can inflate or blow up literally anything thatd require an air compressor. It also has a great feature where you can set it to whatever psi you want your tire at and itll automatically cut off once it reaches that psi (it constantly reads the pressure of the tire every few seconds to ensure its not over inflated and to make sure it stops once it reaches your desired pressure) so you dont have to stand there holding it on your tire and checking it every few seconds manually to make sure you fill it to the right pressure; it does everything for you. It takes me about 2-4 minutes to fill my tire from 4psi to 39psi, so it works really quickly as well. And it doesnt slow down after running for a bit; it takes same 2-4 mins on my fourth tire as it did my first when filling all of them up. []  Derek  (This review has been edited for length. I wanted a compact inflator that would easily fit in a small kit with a tire plug kit , safety lights and some other roadside emergency tools, something I could grab from my truck and put in my saddle bags on one of my bikes and this is PERFECT for that. Small but fast and I mean it inflates REALLY FAST!! You can pre-set or let it go until you feel what youre inflating is full enough, also its able to very easily fit in a small handheld bag with a few other necessities. It plugs into you power port so, no batteries to go bad over time like most and, the neat little carry bag not only fits the compressor & its accessories but you can add more items to it and keep them all together. Even the storage bag is built rugged! Overall its perfect for normal travel needs and doesnt over-heat if you need to do more than one tire like most do. Id definitely recommend this one for your travel emergency kit.  Leo

I was looking for a quick tire inflating device to hook up quickly and use for my motorcycles. This device fits the bill. It performs as described. I no longer have to pay high air prices every time I want to top off the air in my tires before a ride.  Spectre Wind

This portable air compressor has a memory function, so once you set it to your desired pressure, it'll be set for next time. It comes with a carry case, multiple accessories for balls and bikes and a cigarette power adapter.

Promising review: Love it!! Saves me trips to the gas station and saves me money! Can check my tires anytime and gives me exactly how much air each tire has. Accuracy is good, its fast, not that loud. Easy to save or storage in the trunk. It doesnt get hot even after use. And the pump is super easy to use as a woman! 2
Denvix rechargeable portable tire inflator

Most tire pressure devices rely on cigarette car chargers for power. This one is rechargeable and claims to work for all four tires before needing another juice-up. It's fully touch-screen and has pressure options for the object you're inflating, whether it's a basketball, bicycle, scooter or car, and it also doubles as a portable power bank.

Promising review: Comes fully charged from manufacturer. Inflated a completely flat tire on my car to 36 PSI in about 5 minutes and only used about 10% of the battery. Very easy to use. Hold down the power button for 3 seconds to turn on. Attach the hose to the unit and to the tire's valve stem and press the button again to detect the current pressure in the tire. Press the button again to start inflating. During inflation, it's quite noisy and the point on the hose where it attaches to the unit gets pretty hot, so be careful. eganio

Lolssa rechargeable portable tire inflator

Another rechargeable option , this tire inflator works cordlessly via battery or with the included cigarette car power cord. It has an auto-shutoff feature for easy set-it-and-forget-it use and a whopping 180 PSI maximum. This comes with its own carry case and adapters to use for balls, bikes and more, and it has a USB-C and USB-A charging port to use as a power bank. You can clip it's on-page coupon for an additional 10% off its list price, too.

Promising review: It charges very quickly using the USB-C charger. I was surprised at how quickly it inflated my car tire, despite its small size. It took about 5 minutes to inflate my tire (and it was already flat at that point). The display shows a real-time psi reading as it inflates, which is impressive in itself. I haven't tried it on a pebble or bike tire yet, but I imagine that would be much easier. The attachments that come with it fit well and don't get stuck or feel cumbersome. This is definitely a handy product to have around. Need to see how long it lasts on a full charge, but since it inflated my flat tire and still had some juice left, it seems like it would last a long time. The instruction manual is simple and clear. The button pad could be a bit larger. The only real downside is the noise. It's quite loud for a small machine, but it's not a big deal. Overall, a very good product. John

Dewalt 20V MAX tire inflator

If you're already in the trusted Dewalt ecosystem of products, you've likely got a few extra batteries you can toy with. Use one on this heavy-duty tire inflator . It has a digital display for sensing your current pressure and its own built-in flashlight. You can set it to your desired PSI and worry less thanks to its auto-shutoff feature. The device has adapters that stow directly underneath the device's body, and if you don't already have a Dewalt battery, good news: this one actually comes with a power cord. This is the heavy-duty option for anyone needing that extra toughness.

Promising review: I am a 'DeWalt Guy' in that I have over a dozen DeWalt tools, so this inflator runs on the same batteries etc which fits in well with my kit. I bought it for our truck fleet and towing trailers as we have 4 trailers with tires that often need to be topped off and today it is so hard to find services for tire air, or if you do it is difficult to manuever your rig into position to use the air. This tool has worked adimriably, and the presets for tire pressure work quite accutarely, also the way everything stores together, the air hose and fittings is well thought out and ergonimic and convenient. filling is faster than other "corded" inflators I have used, so speed for inflation is certainly satisfactory to me. The size is a bit larger than I had hoped, but then again it works really well, so I am guessing that is part of the trade off. One could get smaller and slower, or this one bigger and faster and well organized. I am very happy with it and will be trying it on other items like inflatable SUP boards etc, but again it has been fast and convenient for our vehicular fleet. Krakski
