We can only wonder what an Australian news anchor was thinking when she was caught staring whimsically at a pen during a live television broadcast.
Natasha Exelby had been zoning out during a pre-taped segment on the Australian Broadcasting Network’s News 24 this weekend. The segment ended but it took a few moments before Exelby, a freelance journalist , realized the camera was back on her. Her reaction was pretty priceless.
The network on Tuesday denied earlier reports that she’d been fired , but not before viewers, including some celebrities and politicians , rushed to her defense. And fellow journalists expressed support by sharing their own bloopers.
Exelby was a good sport about the whole situation, sending thanks to supporters from “myself and mesmerizing pen.”
