Selena Gomez Says F**k Off To Critics Who Slammed Her Inability To Have Kids

Selena Gomez isnt mincing words with the people who criticized her for not being able to carry her own children. 

The Only Murders in the Building star, 32, addressed the backlash at the recent Women in Film dinner, which she attended with her 11-year-old sister, Gracie, according to Buzzfeed .

In a clip shared on X (formerly Twitter), the singer told the audience: So yeah, I shared that I cant carry a child. Yeah, I shared I have bipolar. Fuck off! Thats what my life is. Thats who I am. Screw anyone who tells you youre a victim. Youre a survivor in my book.

Gomez went on to say that her openness about her inability to conceive is not shameful. 

I truly believe there is power in being vulnerable and telling everyone you need help, everyone you want help, she added in the clip posted Thursday. That is not shameful.    

The Wizards of Waverly Place star shared that she hopes to be an inspiration to women because everybodys going through something. 

I truly want to be an advocate for women, and thats why I share, Gomez said. Thats why I like to be honest because everybodys going through something. I dont have it all put together. Im not...whatever. Im me.

In case you missed it, Gomez got candid earlier this month about not being able to have children on her own due to various health issues while speaking with Vanity Fair . 

I havent ever said this, she told the outlet, but I unfortunately cant carry my own children. 

The Naturally crooner revealed she was diagnosed with lupus in 2015 and had a kidney transplant in 2017 .

I have a lot of medical issues that would put my life and the babys in jeopardy, she explained to Vanity Fair. That was something I had to grieve for a while.

Noting that its not necessarily the way I envisioned it, she said shes excited about becoming a mom possibly through surrogacy or adoption in the future even if her journey will look a little different. 

I thought it would happen the way it happens for everyone. [But] Im in a much better place with that. I find it a blessing that there are wonderful people willing to do surrogacy or adoption, which are both huge possibilities for me. It made me really thankful for the other outlets for people who are dying to be moms. 

She added, Im one of those people. Im excited for what that journey will look like, but itll look a little different. At the end of the day, I dont care. Itll be mine. Itll be my baby.
