Sha'Carri Richardson Got Her Olympic Rematch And You Need To Watch What Happened

ShaCarri Richardson got a measure of revenge on Thursday.

The American sprint star defeated Olympic gold medalist Julien Alfred of Saint Lucia in the 100-meter dash at a Zurich meet, reversing the order of their 1-2 finish at the Paris Games last month .

Richardson again fell behind Alfred early at the Diamond League competition, but this time she did not stay there. She passed Alfred at the very end to win in a time of 10.84 seconds to Alfreds 10.88 .

Richardson, who did win gold in the 4x100 relay at the Summer Games, had hoped for an individual storybook triumph at the Olympics because she missed out on Tokyo in 2021 over a positive marijuana test. But she settled for silver against Alfred.

In her first 100-meter race since the Paris Games, Richardson found plenty to celebrate.
