On the first anniversary of sportscaster Stuart Scotts death, his daughters have released a "love letter" dedicated to him, in which they share memories of their fathers life and explain the powerful legacy he left in their hands.

"The hardest part of losing my dad has been times when I either thought I saw him somewhere and when there are things that I want to tell him," Sydni, 16, said in the video tribute which debuted Monday morning.

Scott battled cancer for just about eight years before his death on January 4, 2015. One of the foremost anchors in sports, Scott often used his platform to spread messages of courage and love, even in the face of overwhelming hardship.

The image that he had always put out was one of strength, Taelor, 20, said. [And] there is a different kind of value and still strength in vulnerability.
