Move Over Vanilla: Cookies 'N Cream Is The Official Ice Cream Of Summer

Zagat released the findings from its first-ever "Summer Food Survey" today and the results are clear -- Americans are passionate about warm-weather iced coffee, ice cream, lobster rolls and carnival food. Especially when it comes to which flavor of ice cream they like the best: it's cookie's 'n cream all the way.

More than 1,000 people were interviewed for Zagat's survey, screened based on their average dining frequency and the amount they spend while out. The results revealed some interesting preferences related to summer dining: Fancy hot dog styles are in, and hot brewed coffee is out. And when it comes to carnival food, diners will basically devour it all.

Unsurprisingly, Zagat found that during the summer months, people are most likely to skip hot soup, hot coffee, fondue, ramen, meatloaf and red wine.
