'The League' Cast Speaks Out Against The NFL's Breast Cancer Awareness Month

FX's "The League" is not known for being shy about controversial material, something that manifested in last week's episode centered on the NFL's Breast Cancer Awareness Month that happens every October. In a HuffPost Live interview Friday, the show's cast said that what started as a jab to the NFL became a full-blown commentary on the league's terrible PR of late.

"For us, at the beginning of the year, it was just like, 'Every October is Breast Cancer Awareness, so we're just going to deal with it,'" Stephen Rannazzisi, who plays Kevin on the show, told host Ricky Camilleri . "But I think with the NFL and everything that's happened this year, I think people look at it like, 'Oh yeah, the NFL is just trying to appease women and be sensitive."

"The NFL loves women," Katie Aselton, who plays Kevin's wife Jenny, cut in sarcastically. "That's what they're saying."

Six of the show's eight cast members Nick Kroll and Paul Scheer were the only missing ones participated in the interview, and they also each joked about how their characters would react to the NFL's latest struggles.
