Joy Behar Isn't Vibing With George Clooney Over His Biden Essay: 'He Has To Write' That?

Joy Behar admitted shes mad at George Clooney after the actor and Democratic fundraiser called on President Joe Biden to end his reelection bid in an opinion piece for The New York Times on Wednesday.

The View co-host pointed to the essay in which Clooney, who helped raise over $30 million for Biden in June, wrote that he loves the president but the person he saw weeks before wasnt even the person he saw in 2020.

George Clooney, couldnt he tell him that in person for Gods sake? He has to write an op-ed piece? Behar asked on Thursdays show.

She went on to flip to a clip in which Jon Favreau, Pod Save America co-host and former Obama White House speechwriter, offered his takeaway on Biden at the Clooney-backed event.

I remember my wife, Emily, turned to me after the fundraiser and said, what are we going to do? Favreau told CNN on Wednesday.

I mean, and I said, well, theres a debate in a week. Either hell do well in the debate and well think, well, he was just tired because he flew all the way back from Europe and thatll be that or hell be like this at the debate and then the whole country will be talking about it. So here we are, he added.

The View proceeded to play a clip of Democratic National Committee  Chair Jaime Harrison calling on Americans to be for Biden before Behar remarked that she doesnt think people understand whats at stake in November.

Trump, a convicted felon, is neck and neck with a man who actually saved the economy. The World Bank said last month that the U.S. economy under Biden is boosting up the entire global economy right now. Why doesnt George Clooney mention that in his op-ed piece? Behar asked.

She continued, Im mad at George Clooney right now, even though we dated ... I wish.

Behar made her comments hours before a press conference in which Biden, who is facing calls to prove he can continue to lead the nation or step aside, reiterated his desire to remain in the 2024 race.

Im determined on running but I think it is important that I allay fears by letting them see me out there, Biden said in reference to his efforts to hit more stops on the campaign trail.

He later added, Ive got to finish this job because theres so much at stake.
