Due to a halt in production on The Walking Dead caused by the coronavirus pandemic, the actual Season 10 finale will air as a special later this year. So, on Sunday, the season wrapped up with its de facto last episode, and it was kind of cat-aclysmic.

The episode, titled The Tower, was clearly never intended to be the actual season finale; its mostly just exposition. The survivors are hiding out in a hospital, and the Whisperers, now led by former country music star Beta (Ryan Hurst), do a lot of walking around looking for them.

In fact, the main villain of the episode turns out to be ... cats.
