Tim Tebow Makes Eagles Debut, And It's The Most Tebow Thing Ever

"It was just a lot of fun to be out there and play ball again."

Down-on-the-depth-chart players don't generally elicit strong reactions from fans just for walking onto the field, especially in the preseason.

But Tim Tebow isn't your typical guy fighting for an NFL job. So when Tebow -- the former Heisman Trophy-winning quarterback, Denver Broncos playoff hero and New York Jets cast-off -- made his debut with the Philadelphia Eagles on Sunday, he didn't receive a typical greeting.

He got a standing ovation  from some fans -- and as the game wore on, he at times earned their enthusiastic greeting. In the Eagles' 36-10 home victory over the Indianapolis Colts, he completed six of 12 passes for 69 yards and ran four times for 15 yards. Seven of those yards came on this touchdown sprint.

"It was just a lot of fun to be out there and play ball again," Tebow, who last appeared in an NFL uniform in the 2013 preseason with the New England Patriots, told ESPN.

SB Nation summed up  his much-hyped appearance: "Tim Tebow scores most important 4th quarter preseason touchdown ever."
