Whats more normal than being teased by your own kids?
In Minnesota Gov. Tim Walzs case, it happened on national television, when his son and daughter held up bunny-ear fingers behind his head while he was speaking to MSNBC at the Democratic National Convention .
A clip of the moment shared on X, formerly Twitter, has been viewed nearly 5 million times. Commenters praised it as relatable, wholesome and incredibly normal.
The vice presidential nominee later shared the viral clip himself, writing, my kids keep me humble.
The governors children, Gus and Hope Walz, are 17 and 23 respectively. Hope Walz has helped make her father a hit with Gen Z, appearing in multiple fun dad-daughter videos that enhance his reputation as a lovable Midwestern dad.
Meanwhile, Democrats have been leaning heavily into their new attack messaging on Republicans , promoting the idea that they are the party of normality and Republicans are weird. Walz has been calling Republicans weird since at least last year , well before he joined Vice President Kamala Harris ticket.
