"The Daily Show" host Trevor Noah is lauding Republican presidential candidate Donald Trump for making rival Sen. Ted Cruz (R-Texas) "look like a dick" during last week's GOP debate.

"I've never been more impressed with Donald Trump, because not only is he making Ted Cruz look like a dick, but because Trump brought up 9/11," Noah said on the Comedy Channel show Monday. "Ted Cruz had to stand there and applaud Trump while he does it. Thats like getting a guy to cheer for you as you make love to his wife.

Cruz attacked Trump during the debate for what he called "New York values," which he said was "socially liberal, pro-abortion, pro-gay marriage, and focus on money and the media."

Trump, a New York businessman, responded to Cruz's jab by invoking the city's resilience after the Sept. 11 attacks, leaving the Charleston, South Carolina, audience cheering. Even Cruz clapped.

Trump said Cruz' remarks were "very insulting." He wasn't the only one who felt that way. The New York Daily News published a cover on Friday with a headline that screamed, "Drop dead, Ted," accompanied by an image of the Statue of Liberty flipping Cruz the bird.
