Transportation Secretary Pete Buttigieg of truth-telling on Fox News fame is helping Democratic vice presidential nominee Tim Walz prepare for his upcoming debate against GOP counterpart JD Vance, The Washington Post reported Thursday.
Buttigieg has been drafted to play Vance of false migrants-eating-pets claims and childless cat ladies notoriety in mock debate sessions ahead of the CBS News-hosted event on Oct. 1, said the Post, citing multiple sources.
The former mayor of South Bend, Indiana, former Democratic presidential candidate and current Biden White House Cabinet member is involved in his personal capacity, per the newspaper.
Minnesota Gov. Walz and Buttigieg (as Vance) have not yet held a full 90-minute mock debate, although they are expected to do so closer to the actual event, the Post added.
Buttigieg in 2020 portrayed then-Vice President Mike Pence in mock sessions with then-Democratic vice presidential candidate Kamala Harris .
Its not clear exactly how Buttigieg will prepare Walz for the debate, such as whether hell go as far as former Hillary Clinton aide Philippe Reines who smothered himself in bronzer to portray GOP nominee Donald Trump in practice sessions with Harris.
