The freshman congressman fended off Hoboken Mayor Ravi Bhalla, who tried to tie the younger Menendez to his father's corruption trial.
Donald Trump isn't the only one facing legal trouble. Longtime Democratic Sen. Bob Menendez (N.J.), Rep. Henry Cuellar (D-Texas), and President Joe Biden's son, Hunter, are also facing federal charges.
The New Jersey senator, currently a Democrat, is reportedly sending a friend to deliver his paperwork since hes tied up at his federal corruption trial.
The revelation came as Menendez's attorney told jurors that the New Jersey senator was unaware that his wife, who's also on trial, accepted gifts from businessmen.
"The Daily Show" host named and shamed senators and House members engaged in "legal corruption" thanks to D.C. loopholes.
It will be the second corruption trial for the New Jersey Democrat this decade.
