Police drove faith leaders off the property of St. John's Church to make room for the president, according to Rev. Gini Gerbasi.
The Rev. Phoebe Roaf is only the fifth black woman to become a bishop in the history of the Episcopal Church.
"To defy authority in Asian-American cultures can feel like denying God," said Rev. Winnie Varghese. "But it's in the Bible that we are created in the image of God."
