The Milan fashion house said it will transition to eco-friendly faux fur.
The singer-songwriter, who is vegan, said it was "an honor" to wear a gown from the now fur-free fashion house at this year's Met Gala.
Some accused the model of hypocrisy for promoting polar bear conservation while working with a company that uses real fur for its coats.
The ban includes all of the company's subsidiaries, including Bloomingdale's.
WHAT'S HAPPENING
Gov. Gavin Newsom signed a bill into law prohibiting the sale and manufacture of new fur products statewide.
Los Angeles is preparing to pull fur off the shelves for good.
"We must set the example for other cities across the country and the globe to join us in banning fur apparel.
"It's so sad."
