Maggie Gyllenhaal's Elena Ferrante adaptation The Lost Daughter" won four Gotham Awards including best feature film.
The Berlin Film Festival in March handed out their first none-gendered awards.
"Keep shining your light on us," Taylor Simone Ledward said tearfully, addressing her late movie-star husband.
The late actor will be recognized at the annual New York ceremony, which typically kicks off the awards season.
WHAT'S HAPPENING
The two films won top prizes at the Gotham Awards. Last year, "Moonlight" did the same.
The pair kissed at the Gotham Independent Film Awards in NYC.
