idaho murders
A judge ruled Friday that Bryan Kohberger could not receive a fair trial in Latah County, Idaho, after widespread news coverage and social media speculation about the brutal stabbings of four University of Idaho students.
The former criminology student claimed he was on one of his customary nighttime drives to hike and run and/or see the moon and stars, miles away from the killings.
Two of the victims' families objected to the demolition, arguing it could be relevant during the suspect's trial.
University of Idaho President Scott Green said the demolition of the rental where the four students were killed in November 2022 will begin on Dec. 28.
WHAT'S HAPPENING
Family members of murder victims say theyve found a unique opportunity for support and advocacy at the annual convention of true crime fans.
The Texas tarot card reader's "outrageous" claim has resulted in months of legal proceedings in federal court and a wild attempt to countersue.
Bryan Kohberger was not in the area at the time four University of Idaho students were killed on Nov. 13, his attorney said, without providing information or evidence about where he was.
But the University of Idaho said it still expects to demolish the rental house later this year.
Bryan Kohberger pleaded not guilty in the fatal stabbings of Kaylee Goncalves, Maddie Mogen, Xana Kernodle and Ethan Chapin.
With the sweeping gag order and no preliminary hearing ahead of Bryan Kohbergers murder trial, people fill in the vacuum of information with theories and scoops from anonymous sources.
