The city of Louisville agreed to pay $2 million to settle lawsuits filed by Kenneth Walker in federal and state court.
Protesters across the country expressed pain and anger after a grand jury declined to charge any officers in the death of Breonna Taylor. The 26-year-old Black woman was home asleep with her boyfriend when police executed a no-knock warrant for an investigation that did not involve either of them.
Kenneth Walker III contends his constitutional rights were violated when officers carried out a lethal raid of Taylor's apartment while searching for drugs not found.
Kenneth Walker "was framed and charged to cover up Breonnas killing," defense lawyer Steve Romines said. "This is but a first step.
