President Donald Trumps personal attorney Rudy Giuliani used his speech at the Republican National Convention to spin an unfounded conspiracy theory that Democrats orchestrated violent protests to harm Trump politically.
Clergy planned to gather outside St. John's Church for a prayer vigil but were prevented -- even though days earlier, Trump used the church for a photo-op.
Police used tear gas and rubber bullets to disperse peaceful protesters so the president could have his picture taken at a church.
St. Johns Episcopal Church pledged to support George Floyd protesters even after it was damaged in a fire. Trump later used the church as a photo-op.
