Miami Dolphins' Tyreek Hill was handcuffed and placed face down on the ground by police during a traffic stop because he was not immediately cooperative with officers, the president of the South Florida police union said in a statement.
Hill's agent said the detention was "completely unnecessary."
The Miami Dolphins wide receiver is being sued for battery and assault for a football lesson that allegedly turned violent.
