Prosecutors charged Darrell Brooks Jr. after a driver mowed down a crowd at a Christmas parade with an SUV, killing six people and injuring at least 62.
Police have taken a suspect into custody.
But parents and teachers are clamoring to get the federally funded program back as families continue to financially struggle during the coronavirus pandemic.
