Women in prison
Trans people across the country are facing an assault on their right to exist but being transgender in prison is uniquely difficult.
Inmates inside the federal correctional institution in Dublin, California, have alleged sexual abuse by correctional officers and threats or punishment for speaking up.
"Of course we are frightened," one woman told HuffPost. "I do not want to die in a disease infested cage."
HuffPost spoke to three women with serious health problems who fear the coronavirus could kill them.
