New charge laid against teen suspected in nightclub sex assault

A 16-year-old boy,arrested in connection with an attack on a young woman ata Vancouver nightclub Sunday night,is facing a new charge of sexual assaultfollowing a separate complaint.

Crown counsel says a second complainant cameforward in relation to an incident in October involving the youthwho cannot be named because of his age.

The accused is already facing charges ofaggravated sexual assault and forcible confinement in connection with Sunday's attack.

At the time, Vancouver police said there were many witnesses to the nightclub attack and a lot of available video footage.

The Crown says it intends to seek an adult sentence because of the seriousness of the charges.

Police were called to the Encore Dance Club onGranvilleStreet just after 11:00 p.m. PT. Sunday night. The club was hosting a private party at the time of the incident.

The underage victim was transported to hospitalin stable condition. Police called the attack targeted.
