7-Eleven store in downtown Calgary temporarily closed after worker tests positive for COVID-19
Staff at the location have been asked to self isolate with pay
A 7-Eleven store in downtown Calgary has been temporarily closedafter a worker was confirmed to have COVID-19.
7-Eleven is advising anyone who visited the store, located at 435 Fourth Avenue S.W., between March 4 and 17 to contact Alberta Health Services at 811.
The store has been closed for cleaning and sanitization, the convenience store chain said in an email sent Monday evening, and will reopen once it's determinedsafein consultation with AHS.
The store's staff have been asked to self isolate with pay for 14 days.
"The health and safety of our customers, employees and the communities we serve is the top priority," the company said. "7-Eleven Canada has contacted Alberta Health Services to determine next steps and will provide further updates whenever possible."
There were 188 confirmed cases of COVID-19 in the Calgary zone as of Monday, out of 301 in the province. In Calgary, nine of those cases were in the citycentre.
