Calgarians learn about Alberta human rights

The city invited Calgarians to celebrate International Human Rights Day by exploring theevolution ofhuman rights in Alberta.

Janet Keeping, who willbe speaking at the event,says human rights in Alberta has come a long way since it was first introduced back in 1972.

"Back in the day, discrimination was beginning to be recognized as a bad thing, and that's why you have laws against it, but it wasn't thought of as quiteand I'll just use the old fashioned wordevil, that we think of it now," she said.
