Victims of Calgary double shooting in car identified
Cuc Lung and Quang Chi Tran shot as 5-year-old boy looked on in back seat
Calgary police have identified a mother and her common-law partner who were fatally shot in a car as her young son sat in the back seat asCuc Lung, 34, and Quang Chi Tran, 38.
Police were called to 22 Redstone Manor northeast about 8 p.m. MT on Tuesday where officers found Tran dead in the front passenger seat of the carin theattached garage.
Lung, who wasin the driver'sseat, was rushedwith a large police escorttoFoothills Medical Centreinlife-threatening condition. Shewas later pronounced dead.
Her five-year-old son, who was sitting in the back of the car,was not injured in the shooting.
Police said Lung had a long history of associating with criminal networks and that the attack was likelytargeted.
Two other familymembers, including the woman's other child,were inside the house at the time of the shooting.
The children have been taken into provincial care.
Homicide detectives are still askingfor information from the public as they look for suspects.
