Calgary Zoo's baby giraffe makes debut
'Over the course of the weekend they got very brave and decided to venture out from the back area'
Although shestands more thansix feet tall, a tiny giraffe made herdebut this weekend at the Calgary Zoo.
The baby girl wasborn on Thursdayto parents Carrie, 22, and her much younger sire,Nabo, aged 5.

Thefemale calf had been bonding in the back with hermom since birth, butdecided to come out into the public area on Sunday.
Daddy's little girl?
"Over the course of the weekend they got very brave and decided to venture out from the back area," said zoo spokespersonTrish Exton-Parder.
She said the mom and calf are doingreally well, but it seems the little one is daddy's little girl.

"Nabo the dad has been very close, not in with them at the moment, but being able to look over the enclosure and has been loving his daughter, and licking her and cleaning her and you can tell that is going to be a wonderful family when we get them all together."
