This online closet challenge will get you rocking a variety of outfits all month long

The pandemic hasn't just changed fashion but squashed itto the point that our favourite sweats have become couture.

So in order to give us a smile and motivation to explore the backs of our closet, some are trying theRainbow Days Challenge.

Jennifer Crighton, an artist and Calgary organizer, told the Calgary Eyeopener it began as a fun thing with friends 10 years ago.

"A friend of mine started a social experiment, which was for people to dress up all in the same colour. And that happened before it was on the Internet," she said.

"Fast forward several years we're playing thegame nowmostly online, especially during this time because we can't gather in person."

Essentially, every day for the month of February, anyone is invited to participate in daily themes and either post them online or keep them to yourself.

"The past couple of years, we've asked the people who participated in the previous years to submit themes. So that could be anything from matching your food to "pettwining," she said.

"It's more important to just be inspired have fun digging into the back of your closet or looking at the world around you."

Crighton says the month-long event gets some funny submissions since everyone interprets the theme in their own way.

"People take them how they want to take them. Most people dress up, some people take photos of things around them," she said.

She says that during the start of the pandemic last year, they decided to host the online challenge in March to bring some light to people's day.

"We had a really good season last year, which was glamorous grandparents, and everyone got outtheir grandparents' old clothing. So that was really fun," she said.

And as the event has grown, she says, it's taken on a life of its own.

"How it started originally was just a group of people in the house playing a game with each other," she said.

"Some of those people are still participating, and thena lot of people I don't actually know just find it through friends."
