'Assault rifle' found in child's bedroom during Calgary drug raid
Police lay charges and seize $63K after 2-month investigation
Three siblings are facing a long list of charges after Calgary police found drugs, cash and weapons in a drug trafficking investigation on Thursday, police said in a release.
Officers stopped a vehicle near the intersection of 52 Street S.E. and Memorial Drive S.E. and arrested two people.
Tactical officers then executed a search warrant on a house in the 400 block of Marlborough Way and took another man into custody.
Among the items they seized at the house were what police describe asa".22 caliber assault rifle" with a loaded drum magazine, which was recovered from a child's bedroom.
Officers also found a loaded 9 mm handgun along with licence plates, cash,cocaine and marijuana.
Police say the investigation is ongoing and more charges are expected.
