Fargo will be literally 'shooting' in High River

Over the next few weeks, the crew of the TV series Fargo will be getting ready to film a massive shootout in High River.

Don't be alarmed if you hear gunfire over the next few weeks in downtownHigh River.

The TV series Fargo is getting ready tofilm a massive shootout scene at theHigh River Motor Inn and it's going to be noisy.

"Information is really key to this, so no one is surprised by suddenly hearing bursts of gun fire in middle of the night," said producer Kim Todd.

Todd and her crew have been canvassing the community, dropping off flyers and door-knocking to let residents know what's going on.

"People look at you like, you've got to be joking," she said.

Fargo will be providing alternative sleeping arrangements for people living incertain areas of High River.

"It's not a huge deal for people if we're noisy one night, but night after night is just too much," said Todd.

She says it will take fivefull nights to shootthe entire gun scene, which translates to about six minutes ofscreen time.

Crews will be in the southern Alberta townfrom April 30 to May 8 and will be barricading off theblock surrounding the High River Motor Innto ensure no modern cars, or people, slip in while filming.

"It's set in 1979 and so we've been talking to people with a lot of old cars and furniture.We've become recipientsof a lot ofcollectibles," said Todd.

A new cast of celebrities including Ted Danson, Kirsten Dunst, Patrick Wilson and Jesse Plemons jointhe second season of Fargo, which is being filmed all over Alberta.

The new seriespremiers in the fall of 2015.
