Father charged in infant's death 6 years ago
Baby girl died in 2007 of cranial trauma
The father of a baby who died six years ago of a head injury has been charged with manslaughter.
Four-month-old Honey Jerry was rushed to hospital in January 2007 from a house in the 400 block of Ranchlands Grove N.W.
The baby girl died just over a month later from what an autopsy concluded was cranial trauma.
"Following a thorough investigation, and consultation with the Crown, police are now in a position to lay charges against the biological father of the child," police said Friday in a release.
With help from RCMP, Calgary police arrested Kinsey Jerry, 27, of Siksika, on Wednesday.
He was charged with one count of manslaughter and held in custody. He made a brief court appearance Friday morning.
Jerry also faces charges ofaggravated assaultfrom 2011 in connection witha four-month-old boy who was found unconscious at a home in Gleichen, Alta.
