10-year-old girl sexually assaulted on way to school in southeast Calgary, say police

Police are searching for a teenaged suspect after a young girl says she was sexually assaulted in southeast Calgary on her way to school Friday.

Suspect is a white male teen with curly black hair wearing a black hoodie and a blue face mask

Police are searching for a teenaged suspect after a young girl says she was sexually assaulted in southeast Calgary on her way to school Friday.

The 10-year-old girl was walking to school in the 1400 block of 41st Street S.E. at about 8:15 a.m. when the culprit approached her and touched her inappropriately, police said in a release.

Police were contacted after the girl arrived at school and reported what happened.

Officers searched the area but didn't find anyone matching the description of the culprit.

The suspect is Caucasian with curly black hair. He was wearing jeans with a black hoodie and a blue face mask.

Anyone with information about the incident is asked to call police or contact Crime Stoppers.
