Lethbridge university professor charged with sexual assault against student
37-year-old professor suspended from job
A 37-year-old University of Lethbridge professor has been charged with sexual assault against a female student.
Lethbridge police announced the chargeFriday, sayingthe woman came to them on Nov.19, 2015 to report that she had been sexually assaulted by her professor in December 2014.

Investigators allege the student was sexually assaulted after ending up alone in a room with the professor while attending an off-campus event onDec. 13, 2014.
Police said the universityis aware of the matter and has co-operated with their investigation.
The professor has been suspended while the matter is before the courts. He has been released from custody with conditions, including that he have no contact with his former student.
The woman isnow 24yearsold andno longer a student at the university, police said.
The next court date is set forJune9.
