Nick Chan "made it very clear" he wanted rival gangster Sanjeev Mann killed, according to the prosecution's star witness at the accused gang leader's murder trial.

The witness, who can only be identified as GH, testified at Chan's first-degree murder trial that the two met in December2008.

"He made it very clear that Mann was a high priority target and that hewanted me to kill him," said GH.

GH is expected to be be the only witness who will implicate Chan as the one who "encouraged" the Bolsa Restaurant killings in 2009 as theleader of the FOB gang.

On New Year's Day,gunmen burst into the Bolsa Restaurant.

Mann was one of three people killed that day.Two other gang members have already pleaded guilty to killing gang associateAaron Bendle and innocent bystanderKeni Su'a.

Although he is not accused ofpullingthe trigger, it's alleged Chanis behindorchestrating the murder of the rival gangster.

The killing was at the peak of a violent gang war between the gangsFresh Off the Boat (FOB) and FOB Killers (FK).

Bendle was kidnapped by rival gangsters the day before the attack and was used to lure Mann the intended target to the southeast Bolsa restaurant, according to previous court proceedings.

Su'a, a 43-year-old construction worker, was eating in the restaurant and tried to escape when hewas gunned down in the parking lot.

Chan's lawyer, Dick Cairns, told the jury GH is a "career criminal, a serial murderer" and not a credible witness.

A confessed murderer, GH was given an immunity deal in exchange for his testimony against Chan.
