Officer-involved shooting in Lethbridge injures man

An investigation is under way after an officer-involved shooting in Lethbridge on Friday evening.

According to a Lethbridge police press release, officersresponded to a call of a man with a knifearound 6:30 p.m. When police found the man, they say a confrontation ensuedand the man was subsequently shot.

The man was transported to hospital and underwent surgery for non life-threatening injuries and is in stable condition. The officer was not injured.

The Alberta Serious Incident Response Team is investigating the shooting and is en route to the city, according to the release.
