Petro Canada donates building to U of C

Petro Canada has donated its building on the U of C campus to the university.

The building, valued at almost $7 million, was built in the research park by Petro Canada in 1978 and leased back to the university. The 60,000 square-foot building houses the University of Calgary department of mechanical and manufacturing engineering.

The donation is the second largest ever made to the U of C.

U of C president Harvey Weingarten calls it a significant gift that will support research initiatives.
