A 34-year-old Red Deer man police say is well known to them was picked up on warrants after failing to appear in court on charges of credit card theft, property crimes, a drug charge and failing to comply with conditions.

On the traffic side, RCMP arrested a 33-year-old woman who was wanted on warrants for repeated charges going back to 2015 for driving an uninsured, unregistered vehicle, and repeatedly failing to appear in court. Her unpaid fines were $8,691.64 when she was arrested.

"As part of our everyday, pinpoint crime reduction strategy, Red Deer RCMP target areas that are criminally active and targeted prolific offenders who are breaching parole, probation and court-imposed conditions," said Insp. Gerald Grobmeierin a release.

"The warrant roundup is another message to those offenders who continue to fail to appear in court, who breach conditions and who continue to engage in criminal behaviour. If they breach, if they fail to appear, we're going to pick them up and put them in front of the courts again."
