Man killed in shooting in Penbrooke Meadows
Pensville Close in southeast Calgary blocked off by police
Police are investigatinga fatal shooting in Penbrooke Meadows in southeast Calgary.
Just before 6:30 a.m. on Wednesday,police were called to a house in 200 block of Pensville Close S.E. afterreports that a man had been shot.
The man died at the scene, police said in a release. Detectives from the homicide unit are investigating.
Policeblocked off Pensville Close S.E. and several officers remained in the area throughout the morning.
The incident came as a shock to Kelly O'Donnell as she walked herdaughter to James Short Memorial Schoolacross the field from the townhome complex where the shooting happened.
"You don't expect to wake up to something like this, you know, bringing your child to school," she said.
Anyone with information about the shooting is asked to contact police or Crime Stoppers.
