Philip Pedro matched all seven numbers to take home prize
A Calgary man hastaken home a $1 millionwindfall after playinga winning Western Max lottery ticket.
Philip Pedro said he couldn't believe his eyes when he realized he had matched all seven numbers 3, 15, 19, 21, 24, 36, and 40 needed to win one of Western Max's million-dollar draws on May 15.
"I thought it must be a mistake," Pedro said.
The ticket was purchased at Petro Canada at 5031 Nose Hill Drive N.W.
Pedro, who waited until lottery offices had re-opened from the COVID-19 shutdown to claim his prize, said that the money will go toward helping out family, paying off debt and investing.
"It will definitely help us achieve some of our goals."
