Woman critically injured in northwest Calgary collision

A woman was taken to hospital in critical condition early Tuesday morning after she was struck by a vehicle in the northwest Calgary community of Sherwood.

A pedestrianwas taken to hospital in critical condition early Tuesday morning after she was struck by a vehicle in the northwest Calgary community of Sherwood.

Emergency crews were called to the intersection of Sherwood Boulevard and Sherwood Point N.W. at about 6:30 a.m., police say.

A 24-year-old woman had been hit by a Honda CRV while she was walking her dog and crossing the street at the unmarked intersection.

Shewas taken to theFoothills Medical Centre suffering from life-threatening internal injuries, saidEMS spokesman Adam Loria.

There were no other injuries.

Anyone who saw the collision is asked to call the police traffic unit at 403-567-4000.
